The
Environmental Technology and Management Association
(ETMA) is the Saudi Arabian Section of the Air and Waste
Management Association (SAS-A&WMA). ETMA became the
first international section of the association in 1993
and currently has approximately 80 members. The goals of
A&WMA are to promote technology exchange, professional
development, networking opportunities, public education
and outreach events.
About eight
newsletters are produced and widely distributed by ETMA
each year, which contain local news as well as
information from A&WMA headquarters. Technical meetings
are generally held bimonthly, with presentations and
field trips on a variety of environmental topics. A
specialty conference entitled "Environmental Progress in
the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries" is held
every 2-3 year in Bahrain. Additional educational
activities are planned.
ETMA has an executive
board composed of 4 officers, 4 directors, and one
past-Chair. The board members serve 2-year terms of
office and meet regularly to handle section business.

now available online through the A&WMA Website. A&WMA
also offers a large selection of technical books and
educational materials, as well as conferences; short
courses, workshops and satellite seminars.
